History/Social Studies Teacher (2025/2026 School Year)

The Opportunity

Rooted School Vancouver is the fourth public school to open in the Rooted School network and the first in Washington state. Southwest Washington projects more than 1,600 job openings in IT and STEM every year without enough local talent to meet that growth. Rooted Vancouver seeks to change that by offering a broad range of industry-based credentials and work-based learning opportunities for students during high school. After four years with us, students have a chance to earn a college acceptance in one hand and a job offer in the other.

Your Role

As a Humanities Teacher, you will:

  • Teach with Purpose: Deliver engaging, student-centered instruction in English Language Arts and Social Studies, helping students develop communication, critical thinking, and analytical skills.

  • Promote Equity: Use culturally responsive teaching practices to create an inclusive learning environment where all students feel seen, valued, and supported.

  • Collaborate and Innovate: Work with colleagues to design interdisciplinary, project-based learning experiences that align with our mission of college and career readiness.

  • Empower Students: Help students connect the skills they learn in Humanities to real-world applications, fostering their confidence and curiosity.

  • Use Data to Drive Success: Monitor student progress, analyze data, and implement targeted support to ensure academic growth for all students.

  • Contribute to Our Culture: Actively support and model Rooted’s core values of growth, preparation, hospitality, excellence, and community.

Above all, you will help us determine how we will fulfill the Rooted Promise.
